Three Stress Management Exercises For Relief
1. Organize Yourself – Write a list of any chores and little jobs that have mounted up and set goals to complete them. Little jobs and chores can stack-up very quickly and they merely stoke stress. Of course, such activities aren’t much fun but you can make them more bearable by rewarding yourself when you’ve completed them. Organizing your time through goal setting will help you to find relief from stress at work and at home and is a proven method to combat stress.
2. Move On – The festive season will soon be upon us and the dawn of a new year offers an ideal moment to leave the past behind. Sufferers of stress and its related illnesses will regularly ruminate over past situations and I’ll share with you a great stress reliever that enabled me to stop this hurtful habit. Write down the events from the past that you dwell over the most. Let them all come out. Get an envelope, insert the list, then mark the envelope: The Past. Finished For Good. In early January, find a little spot where you can have some privacy, and dump the past by burning the envelope and assert: You are gone forever, I’m now making a fresh start. Then take a strong decision to not ruminate over these events that have been and gone from this moment on.
3. The Bright Side – As an ideal addition to the last exercise, begin to seek the good in your life. Amongst the more gratifying stress management activities is journaling but it is vitally important for your journal to be a positive spot. Negativity and going over the past have no place here. Make it an up-beat, happy space and here’s a great question that will help you to do this: What’s been good about my day? There will always be something good and that is what you focus on and place in your journal. Tip: Type-in “keeping a journal techniques” on Bing, Yahoo or Google.
In addition to doing these simple exercises, you can drastically relieve stress and stressful illnesses even more by adding in a few proven stress relaxation techniques into the mix too. Best of all, you’ll be able to make use of these exercises and techniques for the rest of your life. Whilst its true that you’re going to need many additional anxiety, depression and stress relieving methods to cure these problems once and for all, the exercises in this article will help you enormously.

Nice article. Effective stress management can be achieved with a mind shift as you’ve described. Dropping the past (it no longer exists so why should we allow it to persist?) and focusing on the goodness in our lives both can reduce stress and anxiety levels significantly. It takes a practice and discipline but the effort is worth it! Thank you for posting.
